Daniel R.
Private tutor in Brighton, United Kingdom
Education
I currently attend the University of Sussex, where I study English Literature.
Experience
During Secondary School I was selected to Peer Buddy an incoming year 7 class. This scheme involved me effectively adopting a class, and accustoming them to a new stage in their life. Additionally, I ran sessions where students could voice their concerns individually, about bullying, underacheiving or literally any other problem they have encountered. This was a rewarding experience as it gave me the chance to assist young people; granting students the tools to manage their social and academic affairs on their own. At school, particular students gave me the belief in myself and the passion in a subject that paved my way to University. A place where I am challenged and excited. I want to install this same fire in other students. Additionally school has the knack of neglecting the individual needs of people due to the mass of pupils. I believe working in a small group or individually is incredibly valuable in order to give students a voice; a voice that can be drowned out in school.

Hobbies
I am an incredibly passionate reader. I started at a young age being transfixed by fantasy novels, such as: The Edge Chronicles and His Dark Materials. This passion has augmented to such a degree that I now devote my studies to Literature. My favourite works include the existential works of Albert Camus, the comedic irreverence of David Foster Wallace and the macabre realism of Dosteovsky. Futhermore, music is crucial to my being. I play the guitar and piano, and enjoy music of all categories; from Erik Satie to PJ Harvey. Converse to these art based hobbies, I follow football avidly and love swimming (believing it the ultimate sport that works the whole body).
