Experience

I have volunteered as a teaching assistant in Year 7 and GCSE Spanish classes during my time in 6th Form at Chew Valley School (graded as Outstanding on the latest OFSTED report). From this I was able to realise how much I got out of teaching, and how much I enjoyed helping others to achieve and become enthusiastic about their classes. I left the school with an A* in Spanish A-Level (97% on my A2 exam), and the desire to pursue teaching, which I now wish to be my career. I am therefore hoping to gain experience as a tutor, and to help as many children as possible to improve their language ability. I love to work with children, and would find tutoring to be very enjoyable and fulfilling.

Hobbies

I love to dance! I have taken up salsa dancing at University and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have taken part in the local pantomime in my area every year, and I have choreographed the dance routines for the children in the shows to do. I also love music and films, and am interested in politics and culture. All of these interests help me with my language ability, as I watch films and listen to music in Spanish, and I have some background knowledge of the history and culture of Spain and Latin America. I love working and spending time with children, and I did various babysitting jobs in my home town of Bristol, as well as one-on-one revision tutoring sessions with members of the class I was a TA for during exam time. As well as helping the children to learn, this was helping me to learn as well, and I hope to carry on with this experience in the future.
