Experience

The most important skills to possess are to write well and speak well: I can help your child with both! I am a patient, enthusiastic person who loves to have someone walk away having learned something from what I have taught them. Double-majoring in English and art history at SUNY New Paltz in New York, studying abroad in Brighton, UK for a year. I am from New York, and therefore naturally competitive; this means I have killer study skills to teach any student. I have worked with all kinds of people (including the disabled, the elderly, and children) and therefore possess a large amount of patience. I genuinely know how to talk to and help all different kinds of people. It is also worth noting I have experience teaching those with developmental disabilities; it is not only part of my work experience but also my personal life as my brother is affected by autism. I can tutor students in writing, reading comprehension and anything falling under the English umbrella of studies. These skills can also apply to any liberal arts discipline, whether it be history, psychology, anthropology, law, and more. Writing is absolutely essential to any form of study and also in the "real world." I also double-major in art history if anyone needs help with this subject as well! I can pretty much teach anything. I have maintained a good GPA throughout my high school and college career and have a ton of effective study habits to share with students that need help.
